Marfan
syndrome is a hereditary ailment that was first described in year 1896 by Dr.
Antoine Bernard-Jean Marfan, who was a famous French pediatrician of his time.
It was year 1991 when Francesco Ramirez first identified the gene connected
with this disorder. Marfan syndrome is a rare but fatal genetic ailment in the
connective tissues of our body. It is not necessary that the disease show its
symptoms in every case. However, there are some indications like longer limbs,
tapered fingers, or problem with eyes or heart, which can directly be referred
to this disease.
This disease can either be mild or severe... however, the severity of the problem totally depends on the age of patient and the time when this malady was diagnosed. Malfunctioning heart and aortic valves are some of the most serious complications which are associated with this malady. This disease is also capable of affecting our skeleton and the hard plate, dural sac surrounding the spinal cord, and your lungs, badly. The problem starts with the improper functioning of tissues. You should get it treated without wasting any time. It can prove to be very deadly, if not taken proper care. The results can be drastic.
Here, I am about to discuss some of the prominent personalities which are affected by this disease.
